Celebrating Independence Day

Celebrating Independence Day
Independence Day is a day of celebration for Americans. It marks the day we declared our independence from Great Britain and became a new nation, the United States of America! It’s important that your kids learn about the history of their great country and celebrate being one of its citizens. There are many ways that Americans celebrate the Fourth of July and we have some recommendations. Whether you are inviting a lot of friends and neighbors to your house or if it will be a small celebration of just your family, let us assist you with some enjoyable ways to celebrate Independence Day.

New Clothes
One way to show your country pride is to get some new clothes for your kids. Red, white and blue with flags or fireworks or whatever to show your love and support for America. It might be fun for the whole family to match with the same pants and shirts. You can also get red, white and blue hair bows for the girls and bow ties for the boys. The point is to have fun and show your national pride.

Decorate Outside
Home decoration does not need to be elaborate. Simple decorations are just enough to give a great impression to your visitors and neighbors. And your kids will love to get involved. Hanging a ribbons and flags of red, white and blue on your door is great decor in and of itself. You and your kids can also get some mason jars and paint them all red, white and blue. Then fill up your mason jars with festive pebbles and stalks of white flowers. You can put these mason jars by your door or on your patio area if you have a patio area.

There Must Be Grilling
Independence Day certainly calls for grilling. Can you smell the hotdogs, hamburgers, BBQ chicken cooking? It is also one of the most practiced traditions for this holiday. This style of cooking somehow makes the mood brighter and heightens the cravings of nearly everyone. There's something fascinating and calming about the aroma of grilled foods. Grilling is great fun for the kids too. And I don’t know any kid that doesn’t like hamburgers and hot dogs!

Games, Games, Games
For entertainment, most of us, including young adults and kids, utilize mobile phones or iPads. Although these modern gadgets work, the celebration of Independence Day is a time to spend together. Games are a great way to spend time with family and friends. Boardgames are great, but even a simple game of Hide-and-Seek is time well spent. Don’t forget to have some age appropriate games for your little ones as well.

Don’t Forget To Laugh
As you celebrate Independence Day with friends and loved ones, be sure to laugh and make great memories. Take lots of photos and cell phone videos, enjoy the food, delight in mingling, and be thankful for all.
